One of the phrases that has taught me the most in this life is: take nothing for granted. In plain Vietnamese: don't treat anything as obvious. It's also one of the hardest lessons I've had to unpack.
Your father loving you is not obvious.
You loving your mother is not obvious.
A friend sitting and talking with you for eight hours is not obvious.
Nothing is ordinary.
Anyone who helps you with anything deserves your gratitude.
Whatever anyone gives you is precious.
Your little girl liking to hide in the wardrobe just like her dad is not obvious.
Once I understood that nothing in life is obvious, it helped me operate with extraordinary flexibility and effectiveness in both work and life.
Take nothing for granted.
