My wife can't believe that my big head is always aware of where the sun is in the sky. Listen and try it — see if it's easy or hard to know:
To know where the sun is, ask time, hey where are you.
- This month, does the sun set early or late? In the fifth month, bright before you lie down; in the tenth, dark before you smile. It's over a month until Tết, so this month is close to the tenth month — the sun sets early.
- What's today in the lunar calendar? It's past the 15th of the 11th lunar month, around the 18th because on Wednesday I was sitting with @[100001508259833:2048:Lộc Nguyễn] and he mentioned only 1 month and 15 days until Tết, so hurry with the cement work so he can celebrate. The 18th of the 11th is a bit further from the 10th month, so you can smile a little before it gets dark.
- What time is it now? Left for the outing around 3-something, from Vĩnh Long Market to Sa Đéc is about 20km — takes 30–45 minutes. Stopped at Sa Đéc square for about an hour, so around 5:30. From arriving, walking to the photo spot is about 15 minutes. So it's 5:45 PM, the sun has already run away, leaving only the light from 10 minutes ago.
You look at a watch to know the time — showing off!
I've lived my whole life without a watch — I only started wearing one recently as a tool to verify the time (secondary purpose) and to track health (primary).
I handed the phone to my wife to take a picture of father and daughter as the sun set behind us.
If you want the sun to brighten you, place you — camera — sun when the sun is looking at you.
If you want to shine brighter than the sky, place camera — you — sun when the sun hasn't appeared yet or has already left.
I'll tell you about the moon some other time.
