A new website project for American Cichlids

Hello, everyone.

# I’d like to introduce the newest project from the American Cichlids Lovers Group: a website about the fish.

**Motivation**: to create a place that stores information long-term, because Facebook is really not suitable as a knowledge library. It should help newcomers approach the hobby more easily, and give current keepers deeper technical knowledge.

**Goal**: provide information about the fish.

**Audience**: all fish lovers.

**Content**: in the first phase, the group will focus on developing content for American Cichlids (from North, through Central, all the way to South America). The website will have two main sections:
1. Species profiles (with video)
1. Sharing on husbandry — tank setup, lighting, filtration systems.

**Photos**: I’ve secured permission to use photos from longtime veterans like Jim Cumming, Lee Nuttall, Jel Hernaez, Paula Pietrzak (and more sources to come), so the website can carry the highest-quality imagery.

The website is being built from scratch for us, with our gold technology sponsor being @[100003518101737:2048:Yamada Tèo] — a name anyone in the aquarium scene knows well. Thank you, anh.

Website content is led by @[100036241878424:2048:Cang Lâm]. Cang only recently joined the hobby, but his product-management experience will help the website enormously. He and his team are building out the writing crew. The website needs **a lot of community contribution** to get the content it deserves.
